Homes

A foundation for a decent life

A safe, stable home is the foundation for everything else – health, education, family life and the chance to thrive.

Homes

Why this matters

Across the UK, too many children, young people and families are living in housing that is insecure, unhealthy or simply unaffordable and too many are at risk of homelessness.

We believe everyone’s future should be shaped by a safe and stable home.

We back the organisations advocating for change and those on the ground delivering safe, stable homes, working to build a housing system that prevents homelessness and protects those already affected.

Our ambition

Everyone has a safe, secure place to call home

Children and young people should never have their futures limited by the risk of homelessness. We’re working towards widespread provision of housing that enables every family to live in a stable, healthy home and build strong foundations for the future.

Stories of change and impact

How we're creating change

We back organisations working to improve housing conditions, influence policy and protect children’s education and wellbeing.

A key focus of our funding and collaborative support is to support and showcase better day-to-day practice for families and young people already experiencing homelessness.

Supporting Change Across the Housing System

We support advocacy, research and front-line practice to improve housing standards, influence policy reform and protect children’s education and wellbeing.

Strengthening Partnerships and Evidence

We work as a co-funder, strengthening partnerships, building evidence and helping effective approaches grow.

Creating Lasting Impact for Families and Communities

We’re seeing families become more secure, residents shape their own homes, partnerships strengthen and the conversation around decent homes shift.

Meet Felicity

Felicity Mallam, WFET Director and Homes programme lead

Felicity leads our Homes programme alongside her role as Trust Director. Her background spans teaching and international development across Africa and Asia, where she saw first-hand how a safe home shapes a child’s ability to thrive and learned to question the power dynamics in funding relationships. This continues to shape how WFET works today.
